def setxattr(path, attribute, value, flags=0, *, follow_symlinks=True) 

Description

help(os.setxattr)

Set extended attribute attribute on path to value.

path may be either a string, a path-like object,  or an open file descriptor.
If follow_symlinks is False, and the last element of the path is a symbolic
  link, setxattr will modify the symbolic link itself instead of the file
  the link points to.
